LESSON FORMAT
LOCATION: Richardson, TX
Private heated saltwater pool, located in the NE corner of Coit & Arapaho. This pool was specifically designed & built to facilitate the best swim lesson experience for your children.
LESSON FORMAT
Private & and Semi-Private Lessons are 20 minutes in length
(Monday through Thursday) at the same time each day.
Small Group Lessons are 30 minutes in length
(Monday through Thursday) at the same time each day.
If inclement weather causes a lesson cancellation, these missed classes are made up on Fridays of that same week typically at the same lesson time (therefore Friday would become the “Show Off” day that week). Please keep Fridays open just in case!
SMALL GROUPS
These lessons have a maximum of 4 swimmers in each class, with 2 instructors present per class. Having 2 instructors during lessons ensures safety of all swimmers, as well as allows us to progress each student individually for enhanced progress. I will not go above a 2:1 student to instructor ratio to maintain the highest level of aquatic safety standards.
SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS
These lessons consist of 2 swimmers max, with one instructor. Swimmers are paired based upon similar ability level for maximum progress as well as safety.
You may register for as many weeks as you like, and the weeks do NOT need to be consecutive (a two week minimum is recommended for all beginner students who are learning to swim for the first time).
Recommended age for Small Group traditional stroke lessons is age 3.5 and up. Any child age 6 months through age 6 years can register for our ISR classes for enhanced safety.
If you feel your child will not be comfortable in a small group setting with drop off, a semi-private or private lesson would be recommended as we can make special accommodations on an individual basis.
DROP OFF
ALL TRADITIONAL STROKE LESSONS ARE DROP-OFF ONLY
For all traditional stroke lesson days, all parents/siblings/etc must wait outside the gate in their vehicles during the lesson. Please do not allow your children to run around in the yard or street. This is for the safety of all swimmers involved. No exceptions.
Up to (2) parents may stay and watch the entire lesson on “Show Off Day”, which is typically the Thursday of each lesson week (occasionally this will be moved to Friday if inclement weather cancels a lesson day earlier that week). This is where we take the lesson time to show you what we’ve worked on that week with your child, celebrate their progress, and show you how you can practice with them to maintain and progress their skills.
AGE
When children are a minimum age of 3.5 they may start my stroke lesson program, although I highly encourage participation in ISR self-rescue swim lessons prior to beginning stroke lessons. For more information on ISR self-rescue lessons please email j.benners@infantswim.com.
