Meet Jordan &
the 2024 Staff!

Jordan has 20+ years of experience teaching swimming lessons to children of all ages. She is a full-time mama to three kiddos (one with special needs), a foster mama (to 3 infant placements so far!)….and is an an orthopedic Physical Therapist when she’s not in the water. She is a certified ISR instructor with extensive training as well as a WSI Certified Swim Instructor. She combines her passion for children with her knowledge and expertise as a physical therapist to create a fun environment for children to learn to swim. She is fun, energetic, (a little silly at times!), patient, and is able to identify the specific needs of each child.  She has taught even the most reluctant child (and adult!) to swim, and she utilizes her former days of Junior Olympic Swimming to help advanced swimmers work on swim team strokes. All of these qualities combined have made her one of the most sought-after swim instructors in the Dallas & surrounding areas.

Have a child with special needs? She does too! Jordan has worked as a PT & swim instructor with children impacted by a variety of needs.... including brain abnormalities, sensory processing disorders, autism, attention deficit disorders, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and neuromuscular disorders. She has a huge heart to provide children with special needs an opportunity to gain aquatic skills and find joy in the water.

Meet Ella

Ella is looking forward to her 4th summer with the Swimming With Jordan team, & is a Certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI). She brings outstanding knowledge of stroke technique and development to your child’s lessons with her knowledge and participation on the Pearce High School Swim Team. She is currently a rising college Sophomore (former JJP Pearce High School swim team member!). She is also a fabulous piano teacher! Ella is enthusiastic about swimming and looks forward to helping kids safely gain a lifetime love of the water. She is excellent with the swim students, and both parents & the kiddos LOVE her!!! SO excited to have her back for a few weeks in May 2024!!!

Meet Holly

Holly is a Certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and thrilled to be on staff again with the Swimming with Jordan team for her 5th Summer! She just finished her 3rd year of college and is a former member of the JJ Pearce High School Swim Team. Holly is tremendously patient with children, and the kids absolutely LOVE her! We are thrilled to have her back for another swim season!

Champions Week
unavailable for 2024

Champions Week took place for 4 consecutive years as a week-long gift of free swim lessons provided to swim students of all ability levels in a special environment designed to meet their needs. At this time, Champions Week is unavailable. For all swim students with special needs, Jordan recommends enrollment in ISR self rescue, in which the private 1:1 setting and the consistency and frequency of these lessons provides the platform for maximizing aquatic ability. For more information on ISR self rescue, email j.benners@infantswim.com.

I have been working with special needs children over the past several decades both as a physical therapist and within the aquatic arena. After having a child of my own with special needs and experiencing first-hand the heightened medical costs that these families occur, I quickly realized that these families often cannot afford recreational activities outside the costs of their medical bills and various therapies. Thus... Champions Week was born!

Champions Week is a week devoted entirely to children with special needs…at no cost!  This week is funded fully via donations. Our staff goes un-paid during this week, and multiple volunteers contribute their time and talents so every child is paired 1:1 with a volunteer instructor. This is a week where children get to enjoy a small group lesson (either in groups of 2-3 children) alongside peers, learning about water safety, skills, and adaptations to water.  We have fun, and learn how to be safe in the water.  Parents drop off their swimmers Monday through Wednesday, and are welcome to attend lessons on Thursdays for the “Show Off Day” in which we make a special presentation and celebrate their progress. Champions Week has been on “pause” since the covid pandemic — and is still unavailable for 2023 — however we hope to bring back this special week in future years!

It is my heart that all children have access to participate in swim lessons, and that every child is celebrated and praised for their abilities, all the while being encouraged for the champions that they truly are!

Special thanks to Mandy McGeath Photography LLC who donated her time to capture the smiles and joy of all the children who participated in Champions week for our inaugural week in 2016!
